Jimmy Smith made a name for himself as a play-by-play commentator on Bellator. His skills transferred quite well into his role as part of the commentary team on Monday Night RAW as well. He was also absent from this week’s show for a good reason.

Smith made his debut over a year ago as he replaced Adnan Virk. While Virk would be criticized on a regular basis, that was not the case for Smith as fans certainly loved his work.

Jimmy Smith was not present on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. In his place, backstage interviewer Kevin Patrick filled in for him. Corey Graves would reveal during the live show that Smith was away on vacation.

Smith will likely be back next week, so it’s not a big deal. WWE just happened to give Jimmy Smith the 4th of July weekend off.

Kevin Patrick received a lot of props for his debut as the play-by-play commentator. At this point in time, it is not known whether Jimmy Smith will be back for next week’s show or not. We’ll keep you updated on his status.
