Santana was injured while performing a uranage on Daniel Garcia during Blood & Guts. Afterward, a video was posted on social media showing Eddie Kingston redirecting one spot to avoid slamming Chris Jericho where Santana was on the mat. While Santana’s team won, a new report suggests that Santana may spend some time away from the ring because of the injury.

According to Bryan Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Radio, Santana must undergo an MRI following his match on Wednesday. Alvarez also noted that no one had given him any other updates. The damage appears to be his knee.

He needs to undergo an MRI, and we can all hope for good news, but he’s probably going to be out for a lengthy period of time. If we get an update, we’ll let you know. But presumably, when he gets everything figured out, he’ll give everyone an update.

Santana and Eddie Kingston have been feuding with The Jericho Appreciation Society all this month. Last night’s match was only the second blood and guts match in AEW. Santana was the only person not celebrating on top of the cage after his team won the gruesome battle.
