Vince McMahon’s recent sex scandal is making headlines around the globe. As WWE launches an independent investigation into allegations that McMahon paid off an employee to keep quiet about an affair, many doomsayers are foretelling the downfall of the company. One former WWE superstar is hoping for the exact opposite.

Maria Kanellis wants to see positive change come to WWE in the wake of the McMahon scandal. Change could be coming at the top of the company, as Vince temporarily stepped down from his CEO duties while the investigation is ongoing. Maria knows the situation is bad but hopes it will be a catalyst for positive change within the company.

Kanellis took to Twitter to voice her opinion on the matter. She said there are a lot of good people employed by WWE. Rather than wish for its downfall, she’d like to see it become a better place for those people to work.

“Let’s not wish that [for WWE to burn to the ground]. There are a lot of good people that work there. WWE employs hundreds of people. Let’s just hope the company is bought out by someone/company that will treat WWE like a business and not a boys club. Health insurance, retirement plans, parental leave,

Vacation days, child care, and a clear direction for the future. This is going to be an anxiety filled time for a lot of people that work there. Hopefully, the COMPANY CULTURE will change. And people will still have jobs they love to feed their families.”

A lot has been said about the culture at WWE. Maria Kanellis has been outspoken in her opinions on the matter. Rather than take pot shots, she is hoping this is the wake-up call that will change everything.
