WWE’s Current Plan For Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament

Sasha Banks and Naomi surprised many people when they walked out in the middle of WWE Raw. This sparked a huge conversation, with many supporting them while others criticized them. WWE now has planned what they will do for the Women’s Tag Team Title tournament.

Sasha Banks and Naomi were stripped of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles and indefinitely suspended. As such, WWE had not planned what to do about tournament to determine new champions.

WWE was also challenged by a lack of viable teams for the aforementioned tournament. According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several pitches have been made for the tournament. Two of them involved a four-team tournament.

Regarding the tag team titles, there will be a tournament. There have been different pitches made. At least two involved a four-team tournament. In one, the four names are Natalya & Shayna Baszler, Tamina & Dana Brooke, Nikki ASH & Doudrop and Carmella & Zelina (even though they already broke up). Except for Natalya & Baszler, there was no other team being used regularly, although ASH & Doudrop did do a television loss to Banks & Naomi two weeks ago. Natalya & Baszler were losing to Banks & Naomi at house shows and had a television tag title match a few weeks ago on Smackdown.

Even Renee Paquette said the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles were only important for 30 seconds. We will have to wait and see who will end up becoming the new champions. Regardless, fans aren’t all that invested in the tag team title picture.
