AEW made its debut in 2019 and since then the company has worked hard to provide an alternate product to what fans see in WWE. The company made great strides in numerous ways, but a lot more can be done. This is especially true when it comes to the company’s roster now.

Tony Khan’s Company has a very deep and diverse roster of talented in-ring performers from all over the world, incorporating various styles of pro wrestling. However, many fans agree that the roster has now become far too bloated.

While speaking on the Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about the depth of AEW’s roster. He compared AEW’s roster to WCW’s and criticized AEW for losing wrestlers in the shuffle.

“Yeah, there’s been a lot of guys on the show. They try to get a lot of guys on that show and highlight as many things as they possibly can. A lot of things get lost in the shuffle, of course, in doing that. WCW, back in the day, they hired a bunch of guys. Most of the guys, they just hired them just so they wouldn’t go to WWE. WCW had signed a bunch of guys and they were sitting at home, making money. They just didn’t want those guys to go to the WWE or back to WWE.”

Tony Khan still believes that AEW has the best roster in the world. He also admitted that it is difficult to give importance to every talent in every show. We’ll have to see whether AEW will end up rectifying the issues with their roster or not.
