Adam Page Says It Was Never His Goal To Be Like Steve Austin

Adam Page made a connection with fans due to his relatable character work and solid in-ring prowess. He went on to become the AEW World Champion after beating Kenny Omega last year at AEW Full Gear. He also addressed his Steve Austin comparisons.

Adam Page is a very genuine character, as many fans simply relate to how he has his own flaws. He also used to drink a lot of beer as part of his gimmick, which was then compared to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

While speaking on the latest episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Hangman Page admitted that it was never his goal to be like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

“I don’t know, that’s never my goal. I could understand how you’d see that but it was never my intention or my goal or anything like that. Stone Cold is awesome, I’ll take it as a compliment. People tell me stuff like that about this guy or that guy, I hope people don’t think that’s my intention like I want to be the next whatever. That’s not the case, remotely never has been.”

Page is likely to feud with CM Punk next for the AEW World Championship, so we’ll have to see how the feud will be booked in the coming weeks.
