The massive change in character for Roman Reigns over the years has been well documented. He went from being an utterly dull babyface to one of the most compelling heels in WWE. He also isn’t stranger when it comes to accolades in the company.

Roman Reigns was an eyesore for many when he was a babyface and fans and pro wrestlers alike agreed with this notion. This is in spite of the fact that Reigns competed in high profile matches against the very best.

Fans were simply tired of having Roman Reigns as a babyface shoved down their throats. While speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray recalled a conversation he had with Roman Reigns when Reigns was still a babyface. Ray revealed that Reigns always knew he was not a babyface.

“I really will never forget this, we were in Des Moines, and Roman opens up the show with a promo. I was standing at the bottom of the Gorilla Position, and he goes, ‘Bubba, what did you think?’ And he was a babyface at that time, and I said, ‘Honestly, you’re not a babyface.’ And he laughed and he goes, ‘I know.’ I go, ‘Everything about you reeks of heel. It really does.’ The tone, the inflection, the way he carries himself. He just looks like that BMF heel.”
