What Happened Before & After This Week’s WWE SmackDown

In preparation for Xia Li’s debut on the main roster, WWE started airing vignettes of Xia Li, familiarizing fans with her before Li makes her debut. The vignettes featured comic book style storytelling that fans certainly liked.

Xia Li finally made her debut on a previous episode of Friday Night Smackdown last year, where she saved Naomi from Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville. Many fans simply loved Li’s debut as well.

However, Xia Li only made her in-ring debut last month, where she defeated Natalya in a singles match on Friday Night Smackdown. The dark match before the show saw Li defeat Shotzi Blackheart.

According to PWInsider, Li has been backstage at recent Friday Night Smackdown tapings but for some unknown reason, she has not been used on television barring the aforementioned Natalya match on February 25th. It was also said that Li has not been out of action due to any kind of injury.

The dark main event after this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX in Birmingham saw Drew McIntyre defeat Austin Theory. McIntyre got the pin after a Claymore Kick.
