Finn Balor is a former 2-time NXT Champion and has competed in high profile matches since his return to NXT back in 2019. Before that, Balor was working in the main roster for few years, where he was not utilized well. It seems Finn Balor opened up about working with Roman Reigns.

Finn Balor was called up to Friday Night Smackdown last year after his second run in NXT was over. He would go on to feud with Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship and failed to beat the Tribal Chief on both occasions.

Balor made his main roster debut on the July 25, 2016, edition of Monday Night RAW, where he squared off against Roman Reigns in a singles match. Finn Balor defeated Roman Reigns to become the number one contender for the newly introduced Universal Championship.

While speaking on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast, Finn Balor talked about wrestling Roman Reigns on the main roster for the first time. Balor admitted that it made him realize he needed to be at a higher level.

“I had an ‘aha’ moment on my very first debut on RAW against Roman in the main event of Monday Night RAW. When we competed against each other, and the way he moved and the way he wrestled and the way he paced himself, that was like an ‘aha’ moment for me to say, ‘Ah, this is what you need to be doing. This is the level you need to be at.’”

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest to win the WWE United States Championship. Balor is also set to defend his title against Priest at Madison Square Garden in a rematch on March 5th. We will have to wait and see if Balor will be able to retain his title or not.
