Kevin Owens is certainly one of the top Superstars in WWE and has worked hard to get to where he is right now. He honed his craft in the independent circuit before making his way to WWE in 2014. It seems Vince McMahon really wanted him to stay in WWE as well.

For the past few months, the subject of Kevin Owens’ WWE contract became a widely discussed topic. Kevin Owens’ WWE contract was up far sooner than initially expected as it was going to expire this year.

After a lot of speculation of whether Kevin Owens would stay with WWE or not, it was revealed that Owens signed another contract with WWE, which was said to be multi-year deal.

While speaking to Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Kevin Owens talked about re-signing with WWE. Kevin Owens stated that Vince McMahon himself specifically told him that he wanted Owens to remain with WWE.

”A couple weeks, a few weeks. WWE didn’t really let me think about it much, they made it clear they wanted me to stay. Vince McMahon, I dealt with Vince directly and he made it clear he wanted me to stay. We made an agreement right then and there. I’m a big believer in…my career is going to go the way it goes and I’m going to do my best with it.

I’m there now for a couple more years and I’m going to do my best to get opportunities and knock them out of the park and reap the benefits. As I’ve documented before, there are ups and downs with this thing; to WWE, to wrestling, to the industry. I feel like I’m a great upswing right now and I’m enjoying what I do. I’m really enjoying myself a lot lately. Hopefully, it keeps going that way. If it eventually stops feeling that way and I feel like I’m on the downswing, then it’s up to me to find a way back up. I’ve always taken that outlook. I’m having a great time these days.”

WWE is currently waiting for Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins’ tag team program to conclude before they will move on to Kevin Owens and Steve Austin’s feud. It remains to be seen when the feud will begin as we are approaching WrestleMania 38.
