We last saw Hikaru Shida in action in early January. It was reported that the former AEW Women’s Champion would be taking time away from the company to return to Japan.

Well, it seems Shida will be making a return to Ice Ribbon for the March event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on March 20, 2022

Hikaru Shida’s return was announced during Ice Ribbon’s event today at the same venue. A video message featuring Shida was played on the video wall where she requested a reunion with former tag team partner Tsukasa Fujimoto at the March show. They have previously held the Ice Ribbon’s International Ribbon Tag Team Championship on three separate occasions.

The March show will mark Shida’s first match in Ice Ribbon since her defeat to Risa Sera in December 2018. The day before the event, Shida is booked to wrestle Hikari Noa at Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling’s Grand Princess’ 22 event at Sumo Hall in Ryogoku.

Shida is currently on a hiatus from AEW. When she returned to Japan, she took a role in the MAKAI Genesis stage, theater, and dance production, portraying Princess Tsuru.

We will have to see when Hikaru Shida returns to AEW. She made some comments about sitting in catering that some interpreted as a bit concerning.
