AEW Dynamite made its debut back in October 2019 and since then has worked hard to provide an alternate product to what fans see in WWE. More than two years later, the company has certainly improved in many ways but a lot more can still be done.

Earlier this month, former WWE NXT referee Stephon Smith began appearing on episodes of AEW Dark, which made fans wonder whether he will be working with the company going forward.

It seems that is exactly the case as Stephon Smith recently took to Twitter and confirmed that he has officially signed with AEW as a full-time referee.

NewProfilePic – In all seriousness. I’m incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of @AEW. Big thanks to @TonyKhan 👊🏿. It’s been an awesome experience and I hope to be a part of their continued success.

Stephon Smith first signed with WWE back in October 2019 before he was released by the company during the August 2021 budget cuts. Smith is happy to call AEW his new home and that is what matters in the end.
