Mick Foley was known for his many memorable characters over the years. Foley’s earliest success came as the demented Cactus Jack. Cactus was known for his death-defying leaps and brutally stiff matches. The character remains extremely popular and influential today.

Foley went on to portray Mankind in WWE before introducing his teenage wrestling character, Dude Love. All three became incredibly popular. The “Three Faces of Foley” was a staple of the beloved attitude era.

Mick recently filed for trademark protection on the “Cactus Jack” name. The USPTO listing notes that Foley filed through Michael E Dockins on February 18. The filing reads as follows:

“G & S: Hats; Shirts; Bandanas; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts”, as well as “G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, providing podcasts in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment; Entertainment services, namely, providing video podcasts in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestling and sports entertainment in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.”

Mick Foley delighted fans when he brought the Cactus Jack character back. Mankind was extremely popular, but Cactus had a history. Jack was legendary for his wars with Vader in WCW.

Mick Foley could be on the way to releasing some new Cactus Jack merchandise soon. Foley still receives regular in-ring tributes to the character from wrestlers. There is a market for Cactus Jack swag. The filing would indicate that he intends to use the name. We’ll see what Foley has in store in the coming weeks.
