Tony Khan has not been shy about gobbling up the loads of talent left in the wake of mass releases in WWE and Ring of Honor. AEW has added tons of big names to an already deep roster including Keith Lee, Brody King, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly. Khan has repeatedly said that he will continue to sign free agents he believes can help the company.

There is a limit to how much Khan can spend. AEW has a self-imposed budget while they await their next television rights deal. That budged has kept them from landing big-money free agents like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who both opted to stay with WWE.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that two more ex-WWE stars are expected to join AEW soon. Shane Strickland, who wrestled in NXT as Isiah “Swerve” Scott, is thought to be coming in soon. Jeff Hardy is also reportedly headed to All Elite Wrestling.

“Khan has also talked about signing more new talent with Keith Lee signed and Shane Strickland and Jeff Hardy both expected to be coming at some point and other ex-WWE names have been talked with, such as Buddy Matthews.”

The reports about Buddy Matthews have been coming more frequently. All three are incredibly talented and could bring something to the table. Tony Khan is interested in just that kind of wrestler.

We will have to see if and when Shane Strickland, Jeff Hardy, and Buddy Matthews show up in AEW. All three would be excellent signings for the promotion. Tony Khan might have to add a third television show to find room for all the new acquisitions.
