Many AEW Wrestlers Thought Cody Rhodes’ Contract Situation Was A Work

Cody Rhodes is no longer All Elite. Rhodes left the company along with his wife Brandi in shocking move that had the entire wrestling world buzzing. Speculation has already fired up that Cody could turn up in WWE at any time.

Some AEW wrestlers thought the Cody Rhodes contract situation was suspect. It was reported that Rhodes had been working for the company without a contract for some time. Cody even acknowledged it on the air.

A report from Fightful Select noted that not everyone in AEW was hip to the truth. Several AEW wrestlers believed the entire situation was a work. They started to realize things were real when Cody and Brandi weren’t at Dynamite in Atlantic City.

Leading up to that, many talent that we spoke to were suspicious that Cody Rhodes’ entire contract situation had been a work, with a lot of question marks regarding the legitimacy. However, they came to realize that the situation was real. It became clear to a few by Friday that a deal likely wouldn’t be reached.”

It turned out that Cody Rhodes’ contract situation was legitimate after all. With almost no fanfare, AEW announced the Rhodes’ departure. Cody has already been in contact with WWE.
