There is no doubt that Drew McIntyre is one of the top Superstars in WWE and someone the company can always depend on to deliver when it matters. His incredible growth over the past few years has been a source of inspiration for many as well. It seems he isn’t at a 100% just yet.

The former WWE Champion was said to be rehabbing as hard as John Cena in order to make his return before WrestleMania 38 after suffering neck injuries. In spite of that, McIntyre returned at the Royal Rumble on January 29th.

He wouldn’t win the match as he was eliminated by Brock Lesnar in the end. While speaking on The Jake Asman Show, Drew McIntyre revealed that fans thank him the most for carrying the company during the pandemic, whenever they interact with him.

“These days, now that we can walk down the street, it’s pretty cool. It’s mostly, ‘Thank you,’ for the time period when obviously the world had shut down and every sport and entertainment company had went down and WWE gave the world an escape with some original content and I was WWE Champion at the time.

[I was] kind of the face of WWE during that time and it’s amazing. Sometimes they’ll do these virtual Q&A’s or sometimes in person now where people can ask any question they want and usually, they took the time to thank myself and WWE and the WWE superstars for that time period and giving them that escape. So, that’s really cool.”

Drew McIntyre is set to square off against Madcap Moss in Falls Count Anywhere match at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 19th. We will have to wait and see how McIntyre will perform in the match.
