Lita is most certainly one of the pioneers of women’s wrestling in the pro wrestling world. She has paved the way for future generations of female pro wrestlers. It seems Booker T defended her recently as well.

The WWE Hall of Famer made her return to WWE television on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, as she laid out Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Fans simply loved this segment as Lita hinted at having one more run in the company despite retiring years ago.

The segment was also said to have been last-minute decision. Despite this, there are fans who are not pleased with Lita being in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T addressed fans criticizing Lita for being in the match. Booker T made it clear he believes the criticism is ridiculous.

“That is just ridiculous. If there is a spot open and if there were two people available and one of them was a younger female talent on the roster and the other talent was Lita, I would pick Lita in a heartbeat. The young talent has plenty more years to actually build herself up, to actually make it to that point, to actually make an impact by stepping into the Rumble as opposed to being in that Rumble.

It is a fact what Lita brings to the table and that’s ‘eyes’, even though a lot of those eyes are from the past. But a lot of the eyes from the past make up a lot of eyes on the show.”’

As reported earlier, AEW had also planned on bringing Lita to the company for feud with Britt Baker last year, but that didn’t end up happening. Lita is scheduled to appear during the Women’s Royal Rumble match. It remains to be seen how she will fare in the match.
