AEW took the world by storm back in 2019 as it was the first pro wrestling company in a very long time that made waves in the pro wrestling world as a form of competition for WWE. It was certainly a risky endeavor as well because there was always the chance it was going to end up being a huge failure. It seems Jim Cornette believes AEW has an edge over WWE.

Nowadays in WWE that is not the case as most Superstars are always handed a script that they have to remember and speak as part of their promos. A large section of the WWE Universe is not a fan of scripted promos as they feel it highly restricts the characters of WWE Superstars.

One of the biggest differences between WWE and AEW is that AEW offers a lot more freedom to their talents in order to express their characters, as opposed to WWE’s heavily scripted promos.

While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about MJF and CM Punk’s promo battle from last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Cornette then explained how AEW can blow WWE out of the water, which is largely due to their entertaining promos.

”It is just pro wrestling without any physicality at all. The first step of pro wrestling is to get people interested in their personalities. The second step in pro wrestling is get the personalities in conflict with each other where the people want to see them fight before the fight actually happens. And the third step in pro wrestling is let them have the fight and sell tickets to it and pay-per-views and garner ratings.

I was flabbergasted to see that you do not see anything real or legitimate or well done in anything done by WWE, because even if they had anybody that could talk like this, they do not allow them.

This is where AEW can easily blow the WWE television programs out of the water with genuine and entertaining promos because this is the only place where the talents are allowed to do them and honestly how many places have guys that can talk like MJF and Punk.”

We will have to wait and see how AEW will book CM Punk and MJF’s feud as it is certainly one of the best things going on in the company right now as fans can’t get enough of it.
