Jeff Hardy hasn’t had many heel turns (just ask Big Show) during his illustrious wrestling career. The 44-year-old has spent much part of his career as a baby face, except for the time when he turned heel on TNA by showing up drunk for his match against Sting at the company’s Victory Road PPV in 2011.

During an interview with SPORTbible, the former WWE champion discussed the idea of possibly turning heel without making the fans hate him. Hardy has often stated he finds the idea of going heel appealing.

“I think there’s a way to kinda turn heel without turning on the fans,” he said. He continued,” “Ok, I’m 44 years old, I’ve been doing this for so long and I’m really being mistreated – what’s going on here?”

The former WWE intercontinental champion said he sees the idea of turning on the company as a way of getting the fans to hate or cheer for him and not as a plain yes or no.

“Should I ask for my release from World Wrestling Entertainment?’ This is not a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ question, it’s a ‘Yay!’ or ‘Boo!’ question – let them yay or let them the boo and let them decide.

“That’s just an idea that popped into my head but it might be a route to take. I feel like there’s something to be unleashed inside me that wants to get out and rage to a certain extent and hopefully we’ll figure that out.”

Hardy is currently signed to WWE where he wrestles on the company’s SmackDown brand. The daredevil is part of the blue brand’s men Survivor Series team, which will take on RAW’s group in a five-on-five traditional elimination match this Sunday.
