Bray Wyatt was released from WWE back in July and it utterly shocked the pro wrestling industry. Jim Ross even previously stated that Wyatt’s release from WWE proved that the company has bad management. Several people simply couldn’t understand why he was even released.
Fans protested against his release as ‘We Want Wyatt’ chants broke out on Monday Night RAW and even made a ruckus during SummerSlam back in August. Many fans also wondered whether Bray Wyatt will be making his way to AEW after this release from the company.
Bray Wyatt’s Fiend character was one of the most creative gimmicks in the company’s history. In a creatively restricted environment such as WWE, fans wondered how much creative control Wyatt really had.
While speaking with the Gimme A Hull Yeah podcast, Jason Baker, an SFX makeup artist who worked with Wyatt, talked about how much creative freedom Bray Wyatt had in WWE.
“WWE did give Bray and I a lot of creative freedom but also, a lot of times, everything had to be approved. There were little tweaks and changes and things like that. At the end of the day, whoever is footing the bill is the one who gets (final say). If we’re working for WWE and creating a mask for them, it’s safety first. The big thing we have to do is make sure that it’s comfortable, durable, and they can see out of it.”
Bray Wyatt’s creative genius was ultimately squandered in WWE according to many fans. Bray Wyatt also recently stated that fans will be seeing him very soon. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Wyatt’s pro wrestling career.
