Vince McMahon is a very controversial figure in the world and there are many stories about him. Some of those legends have been confirmed as fact, still, many also think about how he is treating people now.

WWE Superstars are not considered full employees by the company. This caused a lot of issues as fans and wrestlers alike begged for a union. That unionization hasn’t happened yet.

Writing With Russo recently featured a bit of a rant from the former WWE writer. Vince Russo called out McMahon’s mentality that his roster are independent contractors and he can dictate exactly how things should run, because he has that power.

“Here’s the mentality: 90 percent of that roster, maybe more, they’re independent contractors, but yet they’re putting their futures and their livelihood in the hands of Vincent Kennedy McMahon. No, bro, that future and livelihood should be in your hands. You’re an independent contractor… it should be in your hand. You’re putting everything in their basket and in him [Vince McMahon]. ‘Here’s the promo, you’re saying exactly this.’ I know I can’t curse, but it’s a** backwards.”

The power dynamic in WWE isn’t about to shift any time soon. If anything, things are more restrictive than ever before. Vince McMahon is still the chief decider in his own company and Superstars are finding their job security might not be as firm as once thought with each new wave of releases.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
