WWE has released ring announcer Greg Hamilton. His release is one in a long list of names that the company has let go in recent memory.

PW Insider has confirmed that Greg Hamilton was released by WWE. The 42-year-old ring announcer was hired on in 2015 and worked for the NXT brand before he was called up to the main roster.

World Wrestling Entertainment released ring announcer Greg “Hamilton” Hutson earlier this week, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Hamilton was a staple on the SmackDown brand. He received a lot of attention from Shane McMahon for how he announced him as Best In The World.

This could stem from the legal issues that he threatened against Westside Gunn. The rapper, who is also a WWE super fan, used Hamilton’s voice on a track without his permission. Hamilton then went off on social media and said he will sue Gunn.

It is unclear at this time whether his social media post about Westside Gunn was directly responsible for Greg Hamilton’s release. This is a new story and we will work to get more information as it is made available.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
