Cody Rhodes is the EVP of AEW and has remained a babyface in the company since the very beginning. Rhodes‘ is one of the top stars in the company, as he has competed in several memorable matches and praise-worthy segments over the years.

AEW held their highly anticipated Grand Slam event last month and Arthur Ashe Stadium was certainly night to remember for fans and pro wrestlers alike. It also saw the return of Brandi Rhodes to AEW television.

Cody Rhodes’ first match in well over a month saw him face off against Malakai Black. While Cody Rhodes was the babyface, he received a lot of boos from the crowd in New York City as fans simply didn’t want to have anything to do with him.

While speaking on The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about Cody Rhodes possibly turning heel, stating that ‘Rhodes To The Top’ will be a good vehicle to facilitate Cody Rhodes’ heel turn.

“This would be a good vehicle to facilitate his heel turn because I don’t think anybody’s going to like this person and they’re definitely not going to like Brandi because it’s obvious she needs to be in the middle of stuff regardless of whether she needs to be or not. They could be the hottest heel combination. People talk aboout how bad I’d get booed, if they came out and said ‘haha, look at us, we’re the first couple of AEW and we run this place and we’re better than all of you’ and then break the stipulation and get the title, there would be snipers. People would be waiting for them in the parking lot.”

Cody Rhodes previously made it clear that he will retire before turning heel in AEW. It remains to be seen if Cody Rhodes will ever turn heel or not.
