We are very sad to learn about the passing of Ryan Sakoda, who was best known for his run in WWE in the early 2000’s. He was only 46-years-old and as of this writing no information is available regarding his cause of death.

PW Insider has reported that Sakoda passed away. He trained under Rick Bassman and started in the UPW before making his way to ZERO-ONE. After signing with WWE, he had a short run as Jimmy Yang’s tag team partner when he went as Akio. They were also associated with Tajiri on television. He was released from WWE after his storyline was dropped.

He re-appeared in Wrestling Society X and continued working the indies until 2007.

Sakoda wrestled for WWE in the early 2000’s and he was a part of a class action concussion lawsuit against the company. WWE came out the winners in those lawsuits filed by Konstantine Kyros.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
