WWE switched up Shane Thorne’s gimmick months after Retribution split up. He is no longer Slapjack, but instead he has a very Australian gimmick.

Shane Thorne obviously knew that his new gimmick would get some buzz. He tweeted out an animated gif of Paul Hogan’s famous Croc influenced character along with a caption saying: “Suuuuuure Croc Dundee isn’t cool” along with a thumbs up emoji.

Then Thorne posted another animated gif of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin to his Twitter. That post included a caption of: “Tell me more about how Steve wasn’t one of the most badass people on the planet.”

Obviously, Shane Thorne doesn’t have a problem with this new gimmick from WWE. Some fans rolled their eyes at the character change, but Shane Thorne is going to give it everything he has.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
