WWE released several talents from their contracts in recent memory, which began with the likes of Mickie James and Chelsea Green being released back in April. Last month, Bray Wyatt was released which shocked the pro wrestling world. Bobby Lashley claims that backstage morale is still high despite those cuts.

The company released even more NXT Superstars in their latest batch of releases, including the likes of Bronson Reed and Bobby Fish. In total, WWE has released 52 Superstars so far this year. More cuts could be on the way as WWE continues their efforts to trim the bottom line.

While speaking on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, former WWE Superstar Ariya Daivari talked about the WWE locker room’s reaction to the company recently releasing some big names.

“My own brother was recently part of the COVID releases. Only just recently he was brought back, which I am very happy for. I was very upset when he got released during COVID. After the COVID releases happened I was like it sucks but I survived I think I will be good. Then there’s been 3 waves of firings in 2021.

When Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman got released, the whole roster from top to bottom, RAW, SmackDown, NXT was like’oh s**t. If they are letting guys like Braun and Samoa Joe go, it could be anybody.’ I would say for the last 4 to 5 months I wasn’t expecting it, because I was wrestling all of the time. But a small part of me said that if it was going to happen, it might be around this time. Unfortunately it did.”

WWE is unlikely to stop releasing more talents anytime soon as the company looks to change things up in a big way eventually. We wonder who will be released next. Hopefully, WWE doesn’t fire anyone else from this point on, but this is sadly not likely the case. Keep checking back with Ringside News as we monitor this ongoing story.
