AEW is taking the pandemic seriously and that means stars are still getting tested. Sadly, two wrestlers tested positive for COVID-19 this week and their match was pulled.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that two stars tested for COVID-19. They were both in the same match together, but that bout was not advertised. Since it was planned, they scrapped the whole match and that is one of the reasons why the card looked so weak on Wednesday night.

There were several changes for the Dynamite show this week. There was a match that wasn’t advertised but planned that was going to be advertised late that had to be changed or pulled because two people in the match tested positive for COVID. Neither had any symptoms but AEW found out about it before the match was to be announced. Both were fully vaccinated. That was one of the reasons for the weaker lineup than usual.

Vaccinations will help someone get not as sick, but COVID-19 is still a relentless virus. Everyone must do their part, and that included AEW cancelling this planned match. We’re not sure who tested positive for COVID-19, but we’re wishing them the best health and recovery from the virus.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
