Jake Atlas was one of the many NXT Superstars who lost their jobs on Friday. The company is going in a brand new direction for the black and gold brand, and he was apparently not a part of it.

Atlas is not the only person who lost their job on Friday, and odds are WWE is not finished releasing chunks of the NXT roster. This sad trend will likely become a regular occurrence as well.

The talented 26-year-old Superstar fit the “under 30” criteria, but he was apparently too short for the roster. He tweeted out on Monday afternoon to let fans know that he is doing things his way now.

For 5 years, I worked hard to play the game the way I thought they would have wanted me to. If in that time I was able to accomplish all that I have with a limited understanding of who & what ‘Jake Atlas’ is, imagine what I’m capable of doing now that I get to do it MY way.

Jake Atlas will likely pop up in several places in the indie wrestling scene. He was already gaining momentum prior to signing with WWE. Now he can use that exposure to be himself and let the world see what he really brings to the table without any creative changes from higher-ups.
