Nick Gage recently battled former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho in a Death Match on Dynamite. He was the 2nd Labor of Jericho who is known for his hardcore style of wrestling.

That match caused a lot of controversy and there were rumors that Domino’s Pizza was also upset. So far AEW has yet to lose a sponsor.

“The Bank Addicted Drug Robber,” as Jim Cornette famously calls him, sat down for an interview with X-Pac on his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast and opened up on his experience in AEW.

“I was fired up. I was born for that moment. The AEW locker room is awesome. The boys are great. I never felt like I was unwelcome or anything, so that was cool. I was able to focus on what I wanted to do. Then, they were able to let me be…I’m gonna be Nick Gage. They brought me in to be Nick Gage. If you don’t want me to be Nick Gage, I’m going to leave. I felt great and I was fired up. That match was great. Shoutout to Chris Jericho for being a tough dude. It was awesome.”

Nick Gage revealed that after his hard-hitting bout with The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n Rolla, AEW owner Tony Khan approached him and thanked him for his performance.

Nick Gage uses a lot of weapons to apply his trade. One of his favorite toys caused some issues and he commented on the Domino’s Pizza incident.

“I didn’t even know about Domino’s until it was over and someone told me. I was focused on carving up Chris Jericho. I got to the back, leaking out of my arm, and they told me, ‘There was a Domino’s commercial after you were carving Chris Jericho up.’ I started laughing. What a coincidence. I was focused on making that man bleed.”

Chris Jericho is set to fight his former WCW rival Juventud Guerrera tonight on Dynamite as part of his Labor of Jericho storyline with MJF. His match with Gage received mixed to negative reactions from many fans due to its violent nature. Perhaps this style of wrestling doesn’t belong on AEW television.
