Vince McMahon speaks his mind and that was the case during today’s 2nd quarter 2021 earnings call. A question about AEW was asked and Mr. McMahon had a lot to say.

Click here to read all about McMahon saying that AEW is nowhere near the same competition to WWE that WCW was.

McMahon concluded his speech with a very interesting line. Many fans listening along also picked up on what he said. The question pertained to AEW investing in their roster, and McMahon wrapped up his piece with a very interesting line.

“I’m not so sure what their investments are as far as their talent is concerned, but perhaps we can give them some more.”

AEW has already signed Andrade El Idolo, Malakai Black, FTR, Tay Conti, Miro and more who were released from WWE. With CM Punk and Bryan Danielson on the way to AEW, it seems that WWE has noticed that trend in a big way. That doesn’t even include Paul Wight, Mark Henry, and Christian Cage joining AEW after their previous WWE affiliation ended.

McMahon’s off-handed comment seems to allude that WWE is not stopping their trend of cutting the bottom line by trimming their roster.

The call broke up a bit after that, so we couldn’t hear what Mr. McMahon said to finish his sentence, but enough was heard to get the message across. WWE might be in the mood to cut more Superstars and Vince McMahon is very much aware of the fact that AEW is a likely landing pad for anything that WWE releases.
