NXT

This week’s show opens with a video looking back at last week and hyping tonight’s show. We go live to the CWC and out come the former Women’s Tag Team Champion’s, Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart.

Number One Contender’s Triple Threat

Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart Vs. Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai Vs. Io Shirai & Zoey Stark

Io, Ember and Raquel start and the Women’s Champion takes both women down. Moon hits a sunset flip to Rauqel and Io follows-up with a dropkick for a one-count. Moon and Shirai team-up but Gonzalez nails them both with clotheslines. Shirai is sent face-first into the ring post, then Moon takes Raquel down with a tilt-a-whirl. Moon jumps off Io’s back and clotheslines Raquel, then tags Blackheart for a sunset flip pin.

Dakota breaks up the pin and suddenly all six women are in and Zoey Stark drops most of them before she tumbles from the ring with Kai. Raquel and Dakota team to beat Zoey but Io hits a springboard moonsault to both. Ember holds the ropes open so Shotzi can hit a suicide dive onto them, then Ember hits a senton from the middle rope to take out everyone, and finally Zoey hits a springboard crossbody to them all. You don’t see that every week… on every wrestling show.

Back live and Raaquel is shouldering Shotzi in the corner. Raquel lifts Shotzi onto her shoulders and boots Io away, then throws Blackheart. Shirai counters Gonzalez and hits a double stomp and all three women are down. Stark, Kai, and Moon tag in and Zoey drops them with kicks and a tiger suplex to Kai. Stark hits a running knee to both women but Moon breaks a pin attempt.

Stark hits a flying splash to Dakota and tags Shirai who does the same. Io hits a 619 and a springboard dropkick but Shotzi tags in and breaks the pin. Blackheart kicks and punches Io, then hits a reverse slingblade. Moon tags in and teams with Shotzi for some double team offence and a two-count. Moon attacks Kai, then she and Shotzi beat both Kai and Io. All six women get involved again and four of them beat Gonzalez down and out of the ring.

Kai is put on the top rope and we almost get a five-woman tower of doom but Raquel returns and cleans house. Raquel beats everyone from the ring and powerbombs Shotzi but then Io and Stark return and knock her from the ring again. Dakota hits a double stomp to Shotzi and Io immediately drops her with a dropkick. Io applies a crossface but Kai rolls out and kicks her. Moon drops Kai and puts her in position, then hits a moonsault but Raquel dove on top of Dakota to save her.

Io and Moon brawl out of the ring, then Shotzi hits a senton to Raquel but Stark breaks the pin. Stark hits Shotzi with her finish but Moon comes off the top to hit Stark with the Eclipse, then Dakota hits Moon with the GTK. Shirai comes back and German suplexes Dakota and follows-up with a moonsault for the win.

Winners: Io Shirai & Zoey Stark

Stark and Shirai will face The Way at Great American Bash next week with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship’s on the line.

We see Scarlett and Karrion Kross arriving backstage and Johnny Gargano runs up and slams Kross into a garage door. They start brawling but are quickly pulled apart and Kross shouts “so this is how it’s going to be?”

*Commercial Break*

The NXT Breakout Tournament is returning. The tournament has brought us stars like Cameron Grimes, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Joaquin Wilde, Dexter Lumis, Angel Garza, and Bronson Reed to name a few.

Bronson Reed is interviewed backstage and he says he’s excited to see the tournament. If it wasn’t for it, he probably wouldn’t be where he is. Hit Row appear and Swerve questions how Reed was the one to come out of the tournament as a Champion. Reed says it was hard work and argues with Top Dolla. Swerve says if he’s the Champion he says he is, he should put the title on the line tonight. Reed says he’s got it.

An angry Karrion Kross stomps to the ring with Scarlett in tow. Kross addresses Johnny Gargano and says “touche”. Last week he got Johnny, this week he got him. That’s great but unfortunately for Gargano, he’s willing to die for the sword he lives by. Kross says he doesn’t believe the same is true of Gargano and he demands him to come down and face him man-to-man.

Gargano comes out to a pop and says he’s not afraid. Last week Kross attacked him like a coward. Next week he’s going to beat him at his own game. Tonight Kross wants him to get in the ring, well that’s his domain. And he might not have a sword but he has actual talent. And he’s smarter. Austin Theory attacks Kross from behind and Gargano joins in on the beatdown.

Karrion beats them both out of the ring and goes out to slam Johnny into the plexi-glass by the throat a few times. Kross lifts the steel steps and looks to crush Gargano’s head on the steps but officials run down and stop him. Gargano superkicks Kross while he’s being held and runs off as Samoa Joe comes down. The fans are loving Samoa Joe but Kross says “you’re doing a helluva job, Joe.”

We see the charging logo again and this week it’s at 61%. Who do you think it will lead to?

We go backstage and Gargano and Theory run out the back door, hop in a car, and drive off.

NXT’s newest faction, The Diamond Mine, come to the ring. Malcolm Bivens leads the crew of Roderick Strong, Tyler Rust, and Hideki Suzuki.

Roderick Strong Vs. Asher Hale

The match gets underway and Hale looks for some leg kicks but Strong catches one and shoves him back, then slaps him. Strong takes a headlock before hitting a back suplex takedown. Asher fights up and takes an ankle lock but gets shrugged off. Asher jumps on Strong’s back but gets slung off and hit with a backbreaker. Strong lands some forearms and chokes Hale in the corner, then hits a double-arm suplex. Asher fights out of another submission but Strong knees him down and applies a double underhook submission for the win and holds it for a few more seconds.

Winner: Roderick Strong

After the match, Malcolm Bivens stands with Strong, Rust and Suzuki, and says Diamond Mine is open for business.

Cameron Grimes Vs. aRI sTERLING

The bell rings and Grimes takes a leg but Sterling moves between the ropes to force the break. Ari leaps over Grimes and attempts a headscissors but Grimes lands on his feet and taunts him. Grimes gets kicked back but lands a Frankensteiner and Ari rolls outside. Grimes jumps to the apron but Sterling yanks him off and he hits the apron, then Ari hits a springboard moonsault to the floor.

Sterling gets Grimes back inside and Cameron looks for a drop down but Ari jumps on him with his knees. Sterling chops Grimes and hits the ropes but gets caught with a kitchen sink. Grimes lands a lariat but eats an enziguiri. Ari hits a shoulder in the corner, kicks Grimes, then goes up top for a shooting star press but Grimes rolls out of the way. Grimes hits the double stomp for the win.

Winner: Cameron Grimes

LA Knight interrupts Grimes’ celebrations and calls him a natural born loser. The fans tell Knight he sucks and Cameron concurs. Grimes tells Knight to come down to the ring and try to talk about Ted Dibiase. All Knight wanted was some bling, where he wanted to carry on the legacy. How about he takes it next week? Knight feigns accepting the challenge but says Grimes doesn’t deserve it.

Knight stops and says there’s one thing he needs to complete his evolution into the Million Dollar Megastar. The fans boo and he says nobody asked the incels. Knight says if Grimes wants the belt so bad, they can wrestle with the title on the line but if Grimes loses he will have to become his butler! Grimes laughs and says he’s got no problem with that because he’s leaving the Bash as the Million Dollar Man.

*Commercial Break*

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark are confronted by Indi Hartwell and Candace LeRae backstage. Indi says she and Candace are a family but they aren’t even a team. Zoey says they have respect and taht’s enough. Candace says they’re cute and warns Zoey she needs to be careful because Io likes to stab people in the back. Shirai says Candace has never beat her and next week they become the new Tag Team Champions.

Uncool Kyle O’Reilly comes to the ring with an awkward swagger. He says his whole journey has been about testing himself against the best. He wants to fight dudes who make him better. Next week is Cole Vs. O’Reilly II. Last time was gritty, violent and unsanctioned. He got his hand raised and proved he belonged in the main event and be NXT Champion. But Cole refuses to see it and continues to make excuses. O’Reilly asks Cole to come down and make his excuses now ahead of time.

Adam Cole starts down the ramp but Samoa Joe comes out with a half dozen security. Joe apologises for his interruption and says he wants to ensure none of last week’s nasty events will happen tonight. Joe stands in the ring between them and Cole says O’Reilly has made it clear he wishes he was him. Cole says Kyle prays he has half the career he does but it isn’t going to happen. Cole says O’Reilly is obsessed with him and it’s creepy. O’Reilly is stunned and explains that Cole is the obsessed one.

Cole says he’s nothing without him and it goes farther back than NXT. Cole has been the sole reason for all of O’Reilly’s success and carried him on his back for years. The entire world knows it, including O’Reilly’s wife. Kyle tells him to never mention her name. He says he’s ashamed of his time in the Undisputed Era and that it took him so long to see what Cole is. Cole slaps the microphone out of his hand and they butt heads but Joe puts a hand between them. Cole jumps for O’Reilly but Kyle takes him down with a heel hook. Joe stands and watches, then leaves the ring as Cole begs for his help. Joe eventually beckons for security to separate them.

Tian Sha cut a promo in Chinese about Jake Atlas and Mercedes Martinez and how they will end them. That match is next!

*Commercial Break*

Hit Row are backstage and they’re hyping Swerve up for his North American Championship match against Bronson Reed. Swerve says Reed is going to find out why he’s different.

Tian Sha Vs. Jake Atlas & Mercedes Martinez

All four start brawling at the offset but the referee sends the women outside. Atlas and Boa continue trading in the ring. Boa kicks Atlas but gets caught with a springboard arm-drag. Xia and Martinez tag in and Li hits a lariat, then puts her in the corner for a forearm smash. Li stomps her in the corner and wants a suplex but Martinez blocks it and rolls her up for two. Martinez hits a back body drop and Li rolls outside to regroup. Martinez shouts at Mei Ying, asking if she’s watching.

*Commercial Break*

We’re back live with the men trading again. Atlas tosses Boa over the ropes and tags Mercedes, which brings Xia in as well. Martinez lands a flurry of axe handles and gets Li up top for a double underhook superplex. Boa breaks the pin and Martinez stares at him. Boa makes for her but she ducks and Atlas comes in so they hit a double team sidewalk slam/elbow drop. Martinez drops Xia, then rolls out of the ring and walks towards Mei Ying. Xia attacks her from behind and puts her back inside for an exploder suplex. Li connects with a roundhouse kick but Martinez is legit concussed.

Winners Via Knock-Out: Xia Li & Boa

That was a nasty knockout to Martinez who looked like Francis Ngannou just uppercut her. Good job on the referee for noticing right away and calling for the bell, bizarrely that isn’t always the case.

*Commercial Break*

Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa come to the ring with chairs, then the NXT Tag Team Champions MSK come out with chairs of their own. All four men sit on the chairs in the middle of the ring. Thatcher says the difference between them is that they make this look good. He tells them to appreciate what time they have left with the belts. Ciampa says the Champs are the underdogs and that Thatcher has never held gold so he’s hungry. Ciampa tells them to look into Thatcher’s face and says he’s motivated. He says there’s no man alive that elevates a title the way Tommaso does.

MSK interrupt and the chairs are kicked away. Wes Lee says they respect them and the fans chant “Ciampa’s gonna kill you”. Carter says it’s time to put respect on their names. They’re challengers and next week they find out who the Champion’s are. They shove them and Ciampa holds Thatcher back. Ciampa goes into Carter’s ear and tells them to bring their belts and their pride. Tonight they got a free one but next week they won’t be so lucky, then kisses him on the cheek. They stare each other down.

William Regal is interviewed backstage and he talks about Great American Bash. He says he’s excited for the Breakout Tournament. Sarray appears and asks for a match against Toni Storm. Regal says he will consider it.

*Commercial Break*

Karrion Kross and Scarlett are leaving the building when Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory attack him. Kross fights Theory off but Gargano slams the car door into him over and over. The fans boo as Johnny shouts at the camera Kross isn’t on his level. Kross appears behind him and chokes him out, then hits Theory with the running forearm. Kross gets in the car and makes it look like he’s going to drive over Gargano but the car goes past and Samoa Joe is holding Gargano by the shirt. Joe tells Johnny he pushed Kross too far tonight.

North Amercian Championship

(C) Bronson Reed Vs. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott W/Hit Row

The main event gets underway and they lock-up but Reed shoves Swerve back and roars. Swerve gets Reed in the corner and slaps the back of his head. Swerve takes a wristlock and kicks the leg but Reed picks him up and Swerve slides down the back with a waistlock. Reed powers out and takes a side headlock. Swerve takes a triangle on Reed for a moment. Swerve hits the ropes and jumps but Reed swats him out of mid-air.

Reed hits a military press, then splashes him in the corner. Swerve chops the chest but gets dropped with a headbutt. Swerve grabs the ropes but Reed yanks him up into the air and splashes him down. Both men get on the apron and trade shots back-and-forth. Swerve counters Reed and lnds in the ring, then jumps over for a sunset flip powerbomb but Reed sits on him!

*Commercial Break*

During the break Scott jumped off the apron to dropkick Reed into the barricade. Reed gets Swerve on the apron and chops him hard a couple times, but Swerve gets back inside and hits a rope-assisted German suplex! Swerve jumps on Reed’s back and batters him with forearms but the big man slings him off. Swerve shoves Reed into the corner and hits an STO for a two-count.

Swerve looks for a shining wizard but Reed blocks it. Swerve its a spinning backfist but Reed comes back with a discus lariat. Swerve kicks Reed and jumps but gets caught with a Death Valley driver and both men are down! Bronson punches and chops Scott, then drops him with an elbow before landing a splash in the corner. Reed whips him to the ropes and drops him with a body attack, then a senton. Reed heads up top but Top Dolla distracts the referee and Adonis shoves Reed off the ropes!

The referee realises something happened and tells them to leave. Top Dolla runs at Reed but gets sidestepped and he dives headfirst through the plexiglass! Reed then grabs Adonis and tosses him over the barricade into Top Dolla. Reed looks to get back in the ring but Scott hits a big kick as he’s climbing through the ropes. As Reed is draped over the bottom rope, Swerve hits a 450 splash to his back and covers for the win!

Winner and New North American Champion: Isaiah “Swerve” Scott
