Whoever pitched the Hell in a Cell opening must have been a fan of the 1979 cult classic The Warriors. The opening scene for Hell in a Cell pretty much duplicated the same shots that they used in that Walter Hill-helmed classic film.

The video featured a female DJ character talking into the microphone. You can’t see her whole face, but those words inspired the action we saw for the rest of the night. The original actress in The Warriors was Lynne Thigpen, who has passed away. Her character was never named in the film.
