Finn Balor Has ‘Served His Purpose’ In WWE NXT

Finn Balor was unable to defeat Karrion Kross for the NXT Title during this week’s show. They also set up a triple threat match for next week’s episode of NXT which will determine Kross’ NXT TakeOver: In Your House opponent. Balor is not a part of that picture right now.

It was previously reported that there is some pull within WWE to bring Finn Balor back to the main roster. This pull was reportedly coming from the RAW brand. That just might happen as Balor has served his purpose in NXT.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Finn Balor’s involvement in NXT and how it is likely coming to an end soon.

“The whole reason that he was there is gone because he was there to fight AEW. That fight is over, so he should be on [the main roster]. He’s a big money contract guy and he should be on one of those shows.”

Balor himself even recently spoke about how he wants to make main roster return as well.

It was also said that Finn Balor has “served his purpose” in WWE’s NXT brand. He brought some veteran knowledge to the roster and star power, but things have changed. AEW Dynamite is no longer direct competition with WWE NXT, because that war was over when AEW received an extension from WarnerMedia.
