WWE released several Superstars from the company recently and it truly shocked the pro wrestling world. Chelsea Green was among the Superstars who were fired from WWE.

Green had an unfortunate run in WWE that was plagued with injuries. After two years in NXT, Green was finally called up to the main roster in November 2020 on WWE SmackDown. However, she suffered a wrist injury in her debut match and was on the shelf till her release.

While speaking to Fightful Select, Chelsea Green talked about her run in WWE. Green recalled partnering up with Charlotte Flair for a tag team match on WWE NXT in May 2020 against Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley.

She and Flair won the match and Flair would raise her hand afterwards. Green then claimed that she heard ‘rumblings’ backstage about Charlotte Flair possibly becoming her on-screen mentor and that she would become Flair’s protege.

“I was just kind of starting to get a little momentum. So, I didn’t hear anything. Funny enough, when I was out there at the very end of the match, I heard Charlotte; Charlotte raised my hand and said something. Said something like, ‘She is going to be next, or something along the line that made me think that I was going to be partnered with her or I was going to be her protege. And then, is that the right word? protege? Yeah! And then I kind of heard rumblings of that in the weeks after that I was going to be, I don’t want to say the next Charlotte, but coming up behind her, with her as my mentor, which is amazing. Like, I don’t know if you can get a better spot than that. And, then, kind of radio silence until the next storyline I heard about. I heard about a lot of storylines.”

Chelsea Green is certainly a talented pro wrestler and will succeed in any promotion she decides to go to, especially AEW. We will have to see what is next in store for Chelsea Green.
