Kurt Angle didn’t take a ton of training in the pro wrestling ring before it was clear that he had “it.” MJF is the same way in Chris Jericho’s opinion.

While speaking with Brandon Walker on Rasslin, Jericho discussed The Salt Of The Earth. He will team with MJF this Sunday at AEW Revolution in an AEW World Tag Team Title match.

Le Champion praised his tag team partner, comparing him to Kurt Angle. MJF reminds Jericho of Angle, not just because of his character, but because he picked up everything about pro wrestling so quickly.

He reminds me a lot of Kurt Angle. What I mean is, he’s a guy that picked up wrestling so quick, not just in the ring, but character-wise. A lot of guys, 24 years old, don’t understand that character is the most important thing in wrestling. It’s more important than any move you can do or any match you can have. Max gets that. Combine that with the fact that I think he was a child actor and in musicals, all the sort of things you need to expand on that character. He also doesn’t give a shit. He will do anything, to the point where we have to pull him back because you can’t yell at the five-year-old kid at a signing and make him cry.

MJF is positioned to be one of the biggest forces in AEW for years to come. The company locked him down to a multi-year deal, so they obviously agree. It will be interesting to see how AEW Revolution turns out for Jericho and MJF, but the Inner Circle’s overall storyline has been an intriguing weekly saga so far.
