Jay White lit up New Japan Pro Wrestling since 2017, but he says that his time in the company is done after New Year’s Dash.

Kota Ibushi defeated Jay White in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom’s second night. After the match, White cut an interview backstage, defeated and exhausted. He spoke about how everyone just saw him put his body on the line for their entertainment.

“I can barely walk, but you stand there and stare at me,” he said. “I will never be appreciated as I should be, I see it now, everything I’ve done.”

Then Jay White angrily asked “why am I here?” He said “I’m not going to do this anymore” multiple times as he screamed: “If I can’t do it for myself then it’s not worth doing, it’s not worth being here!” He concluded his interview by falling on the floor and announcing that he is done with NJPW after New Year’s Dash tomorrow night.

“Maybe my time would be better some place else. I don’t wanna do this anymore. I’m not gonna do this anymore if this is all it’s for, I’m not gonna do it. Tomorrow, contractually, if they want me, if they wanna make me wrestle again after what I’ve just been through, I don’t just mean tonight I mean the last… in 8 days it will be 8 years to the day that I stepped in a wrestling ring to start training. If they want me to step in a wrestling ring, I’m sure they can, because they want to see me like this. I’ll show up tomorrow if they want me to, but after that, that’s it.”

Jay White was very upset after his Wrestle Kingdom 15 loss. That might also be the end of his time in NJPW. You can watch the interview below.
