The Rock is an incredibly busy guy. He’s currently in London filming the Fast & The Furious spin-off movie that upset the rest of his castmates and he’ll soon be wielding a huge hammer as John Henry. But as his travel schedule becomes even more complicated, a SmackDown 1000 appearance might not work out after all.
Joe Peisich reported on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast that WWE is still trying to talk to The Great One about making some kind of an appearance, but they would settle for a pre-taped message at this point.

“I have heard that they’re trying to film a vignette with The Rock to appear on his show, SmackDown next week from Washington.”

It looks like if WWE wants The Rock, then at this point some massive obstacles need to be jumped. But hopefully, SmackDown 1000 will feel complete even if they can’t secure 30 seconds of The Rock’s time to film some kind of promo for the event.
