Only time will tel what happens once WWE’s new deal with Fox Sports gets nailed down. But the fact that SmackDown is moving to Fridays could mean a tricky schedule during WrestleMania week.
The WWE Hall Of Fame typically takes place on Fridays before Mania with NXT following. Then again, they’ve switched things around before so they can always do it again.
But Wrestle Votes reports that he has heard that whatever WWE and Fox are planning for the Blue Brand’s Mania go-home show… it’s going to be special. It could be a number of things but we might be seeing an even bigger spotlight being placed on WrestleMania once the new Fox deal approaches.
Of course, the Fox Sports deal won’t come into place until October 2019, so those plans would be for WrestleMania 36 which isn’t even confirmed location-wise. But it’s a very interesting situation as WWE finalizes their new TV deal.
Interesting comments made by FOX recently about SmackDown being a “50-52 week” show per year. I’m still hearing that the SmackDown prior to WrestleMania each year won’t be a typical show. Highly unlikely WWE runs a normal TV 2 days out each year.
