John Cena was the face of WWE for a very long time and his dedication to the company hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, he’s been a part of SummerSlam in some shape or form for the past 15 years… until tonight.

While Cena is happy to be in China training with Jackie Chan for the upcoming Project X film, his heart will be in Brooklyn tonight. Cena sent out a pretty cool message to the fans as he misses his family in WWE while he’s on the other side of the world.

“First time in 15 years I have not been able to be a part of WWE SummerSlam. I am beyond grateful to Jackie Chan but truly miss the WWE Universe. Wishing all Superstars luck and safety! My time isn’t quite up, but Your Time Is Now!” Cena wrote.

Only time will tell how long it will be until Cena is a full-time performer yet again, or maybe that time has passed. But for everyone competing at SummerSlam, their time is now as Cena sees it.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
