Randy Orton’s recently heel turn was apparently his idea.
WrestleVotes, an account have has broken several stories in the past, reports that Orton pushed for WWE to turn him heel upon returning from injury. It’s been well documented in the past that Orton would much rather portray a heel character on WWE television because its a much more natural role for him.
WWE obviously accommodated Orton’s request as he’s now one of the top heels on the SmackDown Live brand.
Regarding Randy Orton’s heel turn, it has been something he’s wanted for a while now. Orton definitely pushed for it. I’m expecting him to be the top heel on SmackDown going forward. With him, Nakamura, Joe, Miz & Almas, SD has a strong mix of main event level heels.
