Original Plans for the United States Open Challenge at The Rumble

As seen at Sunday’s Royal Rumble event, Mojo Rawley answered Bobby Roode’s Open Challenge for the United States Championship title.

Dave Meltzer discussed the match on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and said that he heard there were “two major changes” to Sunday’s event and this was one of them. Meltzer explained that Dolph Ziggler was originally planned for this spot but WWE made a last minute change and decided to switch him out with Rawley instead. Meltzer didn’t elaborate what the other change was.
