Additional details about Enzo Amore’s release from WWE have emerged.

PWInsider reports that Enzo’s release was due to the fact that he didn’t inform the company that he was under police investigation. WWE didn’t find out about the allegations until the woman came out about the news on social media and several news outlets picked up on the story.

WWE questioned Enzo about the allegations and he acknowleged that he knew about the investigation. The timing for the story didn’t do Enzo any favors as it was the same day as RAW’s 25th Anniversary show and the only way it could have been worse is if the story came out during WrestleMania weekend.

WWE has a morals clause written into contracts. It states the following:

“9.14 Wrestler shall act at all times with due regard to public morals and conventions during the term of this Agreement. If Wrestler shall have committed or shall commit any act or do anything that is or shall be an offense or violation involving moral turpitude under Federal, state or local laws, or which brings WRESTLER into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or which insults or offends the community or any employee, agent, or affiliate of PROMOTER or which injures WRESTLER’s reputation in PROMOTER’s sole judgment, or diminishes the value of WRESTLER’s professional wrestling services to the public or PROMOTER, then at the time of any such act, or any time after PROMOTER learns of such act, PROMOTER shall have the right to fine WRESTLER in an amount to be determined by PROMOTER; and PROMOTER shall have the right to suspend and/or terminate this Agreement forthwith.”

Enzo arrived to RAW on Monday wearing a t-shirt that read “today is the best day of my life” and on the back it read “can’t wait for tomorrow.” Enzo was scheduled to face Goldust in the third hour of the show but Vince McMahon allegedly told Enzo to “get out” after the company found out about the allegations.

Enzo’s termination was said to be the final straw as he’s been a controversial figure within the company over the past several months. Enzo was previously involved in an incident that got him kicked off tour bus and shortly after a stripper went on public rant about him.
