Taz is unsure what happened that could have prevented Paige from returning and joining Team Smackdown, and he hopes that she doesn’t have backstage heat. He thought the Women’s 5 on 5 match was good and it was cool seeing Tamina and Nia Jax face off. Asuka picked up the win and WWE is clearly pushing her to the moon right now.
He thought Brock Lesnar and A.J. Styles had an unbelievable match and this didn’t surprise him at all because their styles are so different and he knew they’d have good chemistry. He thought the calf crusher spot was fantastic, and he loves how Lesnar sold his knee after catching Styles for an F5 at the end of the match.
In regards to Triple H picking up the pin in the main event, Taz points out that nothing has changed since 2000. This finish had him shaking his head, and while most fans will think WWE did the right thing by having Strowman standing tall at the end of the show, Taz wasn’t fooled. Last night’s main event match was all about Triple H, and that’s been the case for the last 15 years.
He doesn’t understand why WWE couldn’t build new stars by putting someone like Nakamura in that highlighted spot last night. He also wishes they’d stop making Kurt Angle look like “shit”. He says that Angle is one of the most legitimate badasses in the history of the business, and they’re making him look terrible.
