Dave Meltzer reported in the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that Drew McIntyre’s injury took place during the final spot in the his Championship Title match against Andrade “Cien” Almas at NXT Takeover: WarGames. Many speculated that he was hurt in the beginning of the match but that’s not true. The injury occurred when he was holding on to the top rope as Almas hit him with a DDT.

For those who are wondering if they called an audible in the closing moments, the planned finish always had Almas winning after he connected with the DDT.

While the belief is that McIntyre suffered a torn left biceps, Meltzer is unable to confirm as McIntyre hadn’t had an MRI done as of Sunday afternoon.
