While it Nick Hausman reported earlier this week that WWE had no idea about Chris Jericho’s challenge to Kenny Omega until it aired at Saturday’s NJPW Power Struggle event, new reports suggest otherwise.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, he had received word that Jericho was cleared by WWE for making an appearance at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom 12 match against Omega. We noted previously that Jericho is not currently under a contract with WWE but given his relationship with Vince McMahon, it would be very unlikely he would do a match outside of WWE without their blessing.

Speaking of McMahon and Jericho, Vince sent out the following message on Twitter wishing him a happy birthday:

This would further indicate that Jericho is on good terms with the company.
