It seemed like an uphill battle for Bayley when she announced that she would win the 2024 Royal Rumble. On one hand, she was battling a lot of uncertainty within Damage CTRL and on the other hand, she had the gargantuan task of winning one of the most unpredictable matches in WWE history.

Nevertheless, Bayley was able to win the match and punch her ticket to WrestleMania 40. Prior to the Rumble, the Role Model made it loud and clear that she would challenge Rhea Ripley if she won the Royal Rumble.

On the 1/29 episode of WWE RAW, it looked like Bayley would make her announcement but she was interrupted by Rhea Ripley who warned her against challenging her at WrestleMania. Just then, Nia Jax jumped Ripley from behind and brutalized her. Following the assault, Nia Jax warned Bayley not to choose Rhea. The Role Model then stated that she will make her decision on SmackDown.

Before she could make her announcement, Bayley heard the Kabuki Warriors and IYO SKY talk about her. IYO even said that Bayley would be done tonight. In the ring, The Role Model acknowledged her many accomplishment and said that she could go after Rhea Ripley.

She then said she could fight a more personal fight to prove her doubters wrong. Bayley then turned her attention to IYO SKY and she spoke in Japanese which surprised them. The Role Model then said that IYO has changed since the Kabuki Warriors joined them. Asuka and Kairi Sane attacked Bayley from behind. The Role Model grabbed a lead pipe and fought back before she challenged IYO SKY to a match at WrestleMania 40.
