Vito says that Owens and Zayn should have a great run together, and he thinks Owens will be even more effective with a side kick. Vito asks Russo who he blames for all the big risk spots we see in WWE today and Russo says he blames the match’s agent because the performers are likely to go out there and do anything in an effort to ‘pop’ the audience.
Russo thought the Bobby Roode/Dolph Ziggler match fell flat. It was given the death slot between the WWE Championship match and the Hell in A Cell main event, and this match simply didn’t ever really get going. Russo has always been a fan of Roode and he points out that Roode is in unbelievable shape right now.
Russo is also a big fan of Jinder Mahal, and he was glad to see Mahal’s WWE Championship run continue on this night. Vito says that Nakamura lacks star power in his opinion and while he might get a United States or Intercontinental Title run in WWE, if he wants a main event Title he’s going to have to go back to Japan.
Vito says the booking of the Natalya/Charlotte match was poor because Charlotte is a much better in-ring worker than Natalya, but since they booked Natalya to get heat on Charlotte’s leg they basically took Charlotte’s skill away by having her sell an injury to her leg during the entire match. Russo says he’s simply not a fan of Natalya for some reason, so he’d prefer to see the Women’s Championship around the waist of Charlotte.
