Talk is Jericho Recap w/ Taya Valkyrie – Working in Mexico, Perro Aguayo Jr.’s Death, Lucha Underground Update, More!

Valkyrie admits that even to this day she has her naysayers, who discredit her simply because she’s a ‘foreigner’. The local performers see her blonde hair and assume she’s a rich American who paid to get these opportunities, but in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Jericho says that when he was working in Mexico early in his career he dealt with some ribbing as well. The funny thing is that most of the ribs came from the lower level guys, where as the top guys were very helpful and did everything they could to make him feel at home. Valkyrie agrees, and says that she has noticed the same thing.

Jericho recalls trying to get used to the train system in Mexico, and everyday when he told his name to the person in the ticket booth they couldn’t understand him. In order to simplify the process, Jericho began telling them that his name was Jose Sanchez because he knew they’d understand that.

Valkyrie informs that she was travelling on a bus when she got the news that Perro Aguayo Jr. passed away due to a freak accident during a match. She made the bus pull over and she sat distressed on the side of the highway for a long time. She also felt very sad for Rey Mysterio Jr., who’s one of the nicest people she knows. Even watching that footage today she has no idea where the injury may have occurred, or what caused the fatal injury that night.
