WWE just loaded up tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown with even more action. Live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, the December 5 episode is set to feature a pivotal tournament final, champion vs. challenger action, and major storyline fallout from Survivor Series: WarGames.
The main event remains the Last Time Is Now tournament final between LA Knight and GUNTHER. The winner of this showdown will go on to face John Cena in his last match ever at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. As WWE puts it, this is the “final” hurdle before Cena’s farewell. But that’s not all—WWE just added three big updates.
First, WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill will compete in a non-title match against Alba Fyre. Also on the women’s division front, Alexa Bliss is slated to battle Kairi Sane of the Kabuki Warriors.
Ilja Dragunov is also making his return to television after being absent last week. The United States Champion will issue a new open challenge live on the show.
WWE is also set to address the chaos stemming from Survivor Series: WarGames. Solo Sikoa will appear to speak on the mysterious and brutal attack he suffered at the hands of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks. And Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will make a televised appearance just days after his team’s loss at WarGames.
With Cena’s final opponent about to be locked in, titles on the line, and major fallout from WarGames, tonight’s show feels anything but filler.
