WWE Stars Who Got Suspended For Violating Wellness Policy

Sasha Banks and Naomi aren’t the first WWE superstars to be handed down suspension. Vince McMahon and co. are known to suspend stars over misconduct, no-show or failure to adhere to company policy. Even Dolph Ziggler was suspended for violating WWE’s extremely strict Wellness Policy. That being said, here are five WWE superstars who have been suspended in the past for violating Wellness Policy.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio is perhaps the only superstar who has never, for once, turned heel in the WWE. Mysterio currently performs on the RAW brand alongside his son Dominik. Yes, the little boy from Rey and Eddie’s storyline. Rey is a veteran of the business, but that doesn’t mean he hasn't faced setbacks in his career.

Rey Mysterio

WWE first suspended Rey for violating their Wellness Policy back in 2009. Rey served a 30-day suspension and entered into a feud against Batista immediately following his return. He would be suspended again, but this time for 60 days, in 2012.

Paige

Paige has been putting up quite the teasers of her return on social media of late. The “Anti Diva” was forced to retire due to a series of neck injuries. She returned to WWE TV months later but her role remained limited to manager and authority figure.

Paige

Paige failed the Wellness Policy test for the first time back in 2016. She received another suspension of 60 days not long afterward. Paige took some time off to get her neck surgically repaired. Unfortunately, the injuries became worse and was forced to quit being a wrestler.

Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler is one of the most reliable workers on WWE TV. Ziggler has been with the company since 2004. He has partaken in numerous feuds over the years and won multiple titles in the process. He was also suspended for failing WWE’s Wellness Policy in 2008.

Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler was suspended for 30-days for violating said policy, and after sitting out his suspension, was able to make his return to the squared circle. Most recently, WWE brought him to NXT 2.0 for a feud with Bron Breakker that also saw Ziggler hold the NXT Championship for a while.

Randy Orton

Randy Orton is a legend of the business. On WWE TV, he is one-half of RK-Bro. Behind the scenes, Orton is a locker room leader. But that wasn’t always the case. As a matter of fact, Orton was suspended for failing WWE’s wellness policy on multiple occasions.

Randy Orton

Orton was suspended following WrestleMania 22, where he faced off against Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle in a triple-threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Orton was originally supposed to win the match until he was suspended by the company.

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The Tribal Chief hasn’t been pinned in nearly two years. His title run is widely considered to be the greatest reign of the modern era. Reigns’ career did go a downward spiral briefly in 2016.

Roman Reigns

Reigns was suspended for failing WWE’s Wellness Policy back in 2016. He was suspended immediately following his loss to Seth “Freakin” Rollins at Money in the Bank premium live event. The Tribal Chief sat out his suspension, returned to business and the rest, as they say, is history.
